Project health checks and contractor performance reviews

Get an independent view of a project’s current position, with a practical action plan for the issues affecting delivery.

Arrange a project review

Turn an unclear position into an actionable plan

A project can lose direction when progress reports no longer reflect the position on site or unresolved decisions begin to accumulate. A health check examines the evidence and identifies what is holding delivery back.

WHBC reviews the agreed project requirements against the information available. Contractor performance can be assessed against the relevant commitments, with proposed recovery actions linked to the people responsible and realistic review dates.

Review the evidence and establish the next actions

  • Project position: review the brief and current programme alongside available progress records.
  • Delivery concerns: examine reported defects and outstanding decisions, using agreed site visits where useful.
  • Contractor performance: compare recorded delivery against the applicable programme or agreed performance measures.
  • Recovery planning: propose prioritised actions and identify the resources or cooperation needed to carry them out.

What you receive

A project review report explains the position supported by the evidence and distinguishes unresolved questions from established findings. A recovery action plan identifies proposed responsibilities and review dates. It gives the client a basis for agreeing next steps with the appointed project team.

Example scenario: refurbishment falling behind

For a hypothetical refurbishment running behind programme, a review might find that delayed decisions are preventing parts of the work from progressing. The action plan could identify the information needed to release those activities and require an updated programme from the contractor.

Questions about this service

Yes. Share the current project records and explain your concerns. We can propose a review focused on the decisions you need to make, with the required access agreed before commencing.

Yes. We can assess recorded performance against agreed requirements or measures supplied for the review. Findings will state the evidence used and any gaps that affect the assessment.

A recovery plan sets out proposed actions and the assumptions on which they depend. Achievable dates need to be tested with the project team and agreed resources. The review does not guarantee recovery of lost time.

The review can identify the sequence of events and issues affecting progress. A formal assessment of delay entitlement or a dispute requires a specifically agreed scope and may need additional specialist input.
